Anyone have experience with a Disney Cruise?

Posted on Apr 12, 2010 under Disney Time Share |

Do you have any advice to share? What time of year is best? Which destination? I was thinking of taking my daughter on one for her 6th birthday (2011), do you think that’s a good age? Just in the brainstorming stages, she hasn’t even turned 5 yet, but I know its going to take some saving to do! Thanks for any input you have!

Our family LOVES the Disney cruises. If your little one is into the Disney character and Princess thing, she will LOVE it. You never know just who you will see (though they do make scheduled appearances, too.) You may be sitting by the pool when Stitch takes your sunglasses, or you may see Cinderella in the elevator, or Goofy cruising by your table at dinner.

I think 5 - 6 is the perfect age. They are still young enough to go for all the razzle dazzle but old enough to remember it all. We did the three day Nassau/Castaway Cay trip when our daughter was 5. She still talks about it, even though we have done other Disney cruises since then.

We have always gone during the summer months, because of school. It was crowded, but never too badly. The only part of the cruise where we really noticed the crowds was at the pools, but we didn’t spend too much time at the pools since there is SO MUCH else to do!

You should probably start with a three day cruise, just to make sure you both like it. Some people just don’t do well on cruises.

If you call 7 days with a bunch of screaming kids a vacation, then it’s for you.
