Peanut Butter & Jelly Milk Shakes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

At the nostalgic ’50′s Prime Time Café, where Disney’s Hollywood Studios guests are reminded to clean their plates and keep their elbows off the table, one unique menu item has been as much a restaurant fixture as Lucy reruns.
“Some people come just to get the peanut butter and jelly milk shake,” says Disney cast member David Mitchell, who has served up his share of the cooling, tastebuds-caressing treat.
For guests it’s a trip down memory lane at the end of a straw – only the old peanut butter and jelly sandwiches mom made were never this yummy. It all happened quite by accident, recalled one member of the food and beverage team that launched 50s Prime Time with the opening of the park in 1989. Their charge: come up with a 1950s-inspired menu. “We had a swirled jelly and peanut butter product we used on the sandwiches, he remembers. We were experimenting with milk shakes in the kitchen and wondered what would happen if we dropped in a spoonful and blended it with ice cream. With a few refinements, the signature peanut butter and jelly shake was born.”
PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY MILKSHAKE INGREDIENTS:
4 ounce Peanut Butter
4 Ounce Grape Jelly
72 Ounces Vanilla Ice Cream
8 Ounces Milk
8 Ounces Pure Vanilla Extract

i remember going to …
i remember going to the 50′s prime time cafe. it’s my favorite resturaunt in old M-G-M studios. i had a thick vanilla milkshake, followed by a chicken pot pie. remember people, that is not a good order 2 follow. i got sick to my stomach doing that, even though it wasn’t the resturaunts fault.

There wasn’t any …
There wasn’t any extra cost, though they did charge for the adult sized plate, not a child meal. But that’s because it was, in fact, an adult sized plate, with adult-size servings.
